The real estate licenses are regulated by the California Department of Real Estate (DRE). DRE has made 135 hours of pre-licensing education mandatory. These are divided into three 45- hours courses:

       Real Estate Principles

       Real Estate Practice

       Elective subjects such as Real estate Finance 

 

A minimum of 2.5 weeks is required to complete each course, which amounts to 7.5 weeks for completing all the three courses.
